Fall Semester 2018
Fall semester runs September 10 through December 2
ALL classes will have showcases the week of December 3.
Max # of students per section: 20
Acting is a great way for our youngest performers to let their imaginations loose!
In our supportive and fun environment, students will be introduced to the basics of characterization, improvisation, and voice work.
As young performers gain more experience, they often look for new challenges. This class will challenge older elementary school age students with lessons in more advanced characterization, script analysis, and rehearsal techniques.
Our oldest acting students will work on scenes and monologues as they continue their artistic journey. More advanced acting techniques are introduced at this age, including how to apply the concepts of improvisation to scripted work.
Students will work on song and dance ensemble pieces from a variety of kid friendly musicals. Basic vocal and dance instruction with a nod to musical theatre acting are all included in this fun, fast-paced class.
Students will work on song and dance ensemble pieces from a variety of Broadway musicals. Students will also have the opportunity to work on musical theatre scenes and vocal solos.
In our most advanced musical theatre class, students will work on scenes, songs and dances from old and new Broadway musicals. Students in this class will be exposed to a wide variety of styles and be truly challenged!
Musicianship with JENNA DALLACCO
The Sandbox is proud to have Jenna Dallacco as its in house voice instructor and vocal director. This fall, Jenna will offer a class to those who want to learn more about their voices as well as musical concepts like harmony and sight-reading.
Dance: CATS Intensive
Our combined Kids/Tweens production in May 2019 will be the Andrew Lloyd Webber classic CATS. In preparation for that wonderful production, we are offering this dance class so that all young performers can begin to work on their jazz, ballet, and of course feline movement!
Dance: BRING IT ON Intensive
Our Tweens production in January will be the cheerleading competition musical BRING IT ON. So that our performers are super prepared, we are offering this special dance class in the fall, with a focus on hip hop and cheerleading.
